5-24-24   THOUGHTS

Sometimes we need to refuse the temptation to ignore culturally unpopular passage areas.  Some of our reading below qualifies as unpopular.  God’s word made us male and female, and assigned certain roles to each.  The family unit, the home, has been God’s incubator to nurture and train the generations to maintain a Godly world.  Man has sought out many inventions of his own.  We live in a world that is not Godly!  The roles and character elements below are things from God’s mind brought to us in Spirit Words! They are not popular in some cases, but good for Godly Order, so that the word of God will not be dishonored!  We need to “adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect.”  The society that “adorns the doctrine of God”... that “loves its neighbor as itself,”  will eradicate all sorts of evil!

Titus 2:1-10     But as for you, speak the things which are fitting for sound doctrine.  2  Older men are to be temperate, dignified, sensible, sound in faith, in love, in perseverance. 3  Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, 4  so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5  to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands,
so that the word of God will not be dishonored. 6  Likewise urge the young men to be sensible; 7  in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified, 8  sound in speech which is beyond reproach, so that the opponent will be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us. 9  Urge bondslaves to be subject to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not argumentative, 10  not pilfering, but showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in every respect.

My Prayer:
Father, help us to embrace your teachings in all ways.  We are made in Your image, O God, may we make that obvious to the world as we engage it.  Help us to show a non-threatening, loving humble person of compassion, to all we meet.  Help us to value every person.  Teach us that it’s better to give than to receive.  May our faith allow us to adorn the teachings from You in every respect.  In the name of the One who saves us,     Amen.
